Owned by female producer Lorena Vindas, Finca Don Peter is located on the edge of Central Valley, very close to the Western Valley, at the village of Sabanilla de Alajuela. Located right at the foot of the Poásvolcano (at about 1400masl) – this brings with it risks, but also benefits for the soil, with small falls of volcanic ash contributing nutrients to the soil. Processing is carried out nearby at Sumava Mill owned and operated by Francesco Mena of renowned dry mill/exporter Exclusive Coffees. Sumava can be considered a direct display of everything learnt from the many producers he works alongside. The farms and mill are immaculately laid out and expertly managed to deliver consistent quality. Their micro-mill is large enough to process coffee cherry from other small farms and experiments with new varietals and processing methods.
