This lot is a washed processed coffee, this is where the coffee cherries are pulped to remove the outer cherry layer, then fermented to remove the sticky mucilage layer that remains. After this, the coffees are dried in parchment on raised drying beds, where they are then delivered to a dry mill for export preparation. This results in a clean, elegant cup that fully expresses what Ugandan coffee has to offer.
The varieties are from Kenya and bare some similarities to the flavour profile, just with a much less aggressive acidity. We’re excited to showcase this origin and hope to show more coffees from there in the future.
