Bright citrus notes are balanced with golden syrup, with a delicate floral sweetness of red apple in the background of this dynamic cup.

The Sidamo region is home to the Sidama people, an indigenous ethnic group. It borders the large regions of Arsi and Bale to the east and Gamogofa to the west. Thanks to its location in the Great Rift Valley, Sidamo has lush green landscapes and freshwater lakes. These lakes provide water for drinking and farming, making the region one of the most populated in Ethiopia.

Sidamo has many microclimates and soil types, so coffee can taste different from one town to another.
Coffee comes from over 500 small family farms. The community works closely with local mills, which pay fair prices and support farmers financially.

For the people of Sidamo Dara, coffee is more than just a crop—it’s a way of life. Families have grown coffee for generations, using traditional methods like hand picking ripe cherries during harvest (October to December). Coffee also plays a big role in social life. It’s shared during gatherings and ceremonies as a sign of friendship and hospitality.
