Uraga Natural

The Uraga Dry Mill has 470 raised beds and ~ 500 members of staff during the harvest season. Historically, coffees from Uraga were trucked to Yirgacheffe because farmers could find higher prices due to the Yirgacheffe reputation. However, since the inception of Israel’s quality focused Uraga processing sites, local smallholders no longer need to transport their coffees to Yirgacheffe. Instead, they recognise the value of their distinct coffees and realise they deserve their veryown differentiation. The contributing farmers are all registered and a part of the Kerchanshe support network set up by Israel Degfa. This network helps smallholders and their families with access to healthcare, education and agricultural support.
