GLORIA AMPARO ZAPATA

A super clean, sweet flavour profile with bursts of boysenberry, red apple and orange with juicy pink grapefruit acidity and brown sugar in the finish.

This coffee was grown by Gloria Amparo Zapata at the farm Angosturas. Glorias coffee is harvested following strict ripeness criteria, later floated and hand-sorted to remove any defects. Cherries are exposed to 30 hours of underwater fermentation before being de- pulped. Parchment is gently washed and later dried under temperature-controlled conditions until ideal moisture content was achieved.

Gloria used to work as a cook at a coffee plantation in Cauca for 25 years. A few years ago, she moved back to La Union (her hometown) to take over her mother’s coffee farm. Since she arrived, she decided to plant Caturra. Gloria decided to turn organic in 2019 and in 2020 she managed to gain her FTO certification.
