Juicy watermelon and bright lime upfront, layered with a sweet orange twist and a lush, syrupy body that lingers on the palate. Enjoy it hot for depth or iced for a vibrant, refreshing brew!
Juicy, bright and unapologetically summery. This blend pairs a washed Caturra - all zesty lime and crisp acidity – with a natural Pacamara that brings watermelon sweetness and a sweet orange twist. The result is a lush, syrupy body that lingers on the palate. Brew it hot for depth or pour it over ice for something vibrant and refreshing. Either way, it's your perfect sunny days cup.
BLEND COMPONENTS
- Guatemala: San Patricio El Limón, Caturra, Washed
- Guatemala: San Patricio El Limón, Pacamara, Natural
Both of the coffees in our Summer Blend hail from our friends at El Limón, one of three farms from the San Patricio Estate, owned and operated by Guadalupe Alberto 'Beto' Reyes and the Reyes family.
We've worked with the Reyes family for 12 years now. What started as a sourcing relationship has grown into a genuine friendship, during which the farms have gone from strength to strength in both infrastructure and coffee quality. El Limón is something of a jewel in the crown - the family purchased it 22 years ago and have since renovated older areas of the farm, terracing the land, planting new coffee and introducing sustainable farming practices. Established shade cover, high altitude and plenty of sunlight mean the coffee matures slowly, building the high sugar levels that translate into sweetness in the cup.
The family are always looking to innovate in the pursuit of flavour and quality – values we share wholeheartedly.
Espresso
This recipe runs at roughly a 1:2.4 ratio - slightly longer than a traditional espresso - which helps bring out the blend's fruit-forward character and syrupy sweetness. Aim for 25–30 seconds and you'll get a juicy, balanced shot with a smooth finish.
It's a versatile one, too. Pair it with milk for a sweet, rounded flat white, or pull a double over ice for something bright and refreshing on warmer days.

Flash Brew
Want iced coffee in minutes rather than hours? Flash brewing (hot coffee brewed directly over ice) locks in all that bright, juicy character. Use reusable ice cubes to chill without diluting.
- Coffee: 21g (coarse filter grind)
- Water: 300g at 92°C
- Ice: Reusable ice cubes in your carafe
- Method: Brew with a Clever Dripper or pour-over, steep for 3 minutes, then drain directly over ice. Stir to chill and enjoy.
Want the full method? Our friends at Ozone UK have put together a detailed Flash Brew Guide.
El Limón spans 18 hectares in Palencia, just east of Guatemala City, at elevations between 1,350 and 1,850 metres above sea level. Palencia isn't one of Guatemala's eight officially recognised coffee regions, names like Antigua and Huehuetenango tend to dominate the conversation, but the Reyes family are quietly helping to put it on the map.
The family operate their own wet mill on site, run by Beto's brother Felix. This gives them complete control over processing - they can separate different lots, keep individual days' pickings apart, and experiment with different methods while maintaining full traceability. It's this setup that allows them to produce both the washed Caturra and natural Pacamara in our Summer Blend side by side.
Natural processing remains relatively uncommon in Guatemala, where washed coffees dominate, but the Reyes family have embraced it wholeheartedly. Their 2021 natural Pacamara earned a top 15 placement in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence - recognition of both the quality they're achieving and the growing appreciation for alternative processing in the region.
