Fresh strawberries and blueberries mashed up with guava lead the way. Beyond that is a depth of juicy tropical fruit sweetness and acidity with a touch of funk in the finish.
Finca El Limon is one of three farms from the San Patricio Estate, owned and operated by Guadalupe Alberto ‘Beto’ Reyes and the Reyes family.
We have worked with the Reyes family for five years now. A loyal relationship and friendship has developed, during which the farms have gone from strength to strength in infrastructure and coffee quality over this time. The family are always looking to innovate in the pursuit of flavour and quality – values intrinsically shared by us.
The farm is located in the Palencia region which isn't part of the eight regions of coffee as defined by Anacafé (the National Association of Coffee in Guatemala), but you can see a lot of development in the zone, and El Limon is a perfect example of that development.
El Limon is eighteen hectares in size and sits at an altitude between 1,350–1,850 meters above sea level. The farm mainly produces Caturra and Bourbon but has also recently started growing SL28, H1, H3, Maracaturra, Maragogype, Geisha, Pacamaras, Caturras and Catuaí (yellow and red). In addition, around 8 water reservoirs have been built around the entire farm in order to preserve this vital liquid and help ensure the sustainability of the farm.
This coffee won the Guatemalan Cup of Excellence a few years ago and you'll easily be able to tell why! A fantastic example of natural processing and the Pacamara variety.

It's traditional in Scandinavian countries to select a special single-origin coffee each Festive season as Julkaffe, the coffee of Christmas, and we felt this would be a fantastic idea to adopt to showcase an incredible single-origin coffee alongside our own tradition of creating a delicious festive blend each year.
San Patricio El Limon is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Reyes family. They purchased it 23 years ago and over the years have renovated older areas of the farm, by terracing areas, planted new coffee and introduced sustainable farming practices. San Patricio El Limon features established shade cover trees, high altitude and receives plenty of sunlight, resulting in the long maturing of coffee, high levels of sugar and consistent coffee production.
