A burst of lemon blossom, juicy fresh strawberries and pink grapefruit. A floral green tea with a light, silky body in the finish.
Located in the Kecho Anderacha Kebele, Telila Coffee Washing Station (CWS) is owned and run by Mike Mamo, partner in Osito Coffee. The washing station was purchased in 2019 and in 2019/2020 the first harvest was put into operation. With a real focus on quality control and experimentation, we are excited to be working with Mike and his team at Telila.
In addition to producing impeccably clean washed lots, Telila also produces fermented honey lots, and the occasionally naturally produced lot. In the pursuit of improving quality, Telila is innovating in many exciting ways. For instance, where most washing stations build lots based exclusively on the processing method employed and the location the cherries were delivered to (i.e. the washing station name), Telila goes a step further and separates lots based on the kebele from which the cherry came.

Jimma is home to the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre (JARC). This is the home of coffee plant research and development in Ethiopia. Coffee plant varietals is a tricky conversation in Ethiopia, where there is a huge range of genetic diversity in plants, and we often describe them as “heirloom”. These might be truly wild plants, but in many cases, these are plants which came originally from the JARC selective breeding programs. Two of the most famous selections from JARC, popular throughout Ethiopia and which make up this lot are JARC 74110 & JARC 74112 (catchy name, right!!).
